Furthermore, Deathcab is visiting the Orpheum Nov 28th. What do you think the over/under is of me getting backstage (aka free) passes? I’m not sure that I want to pay $28 plus ticketbastard prices to sit next to your little sister and then get made fun of by my friends that like to tell me how much better they used to be. Then again, it’s a Tuesday and what else am I gonna do?
The Decemberists also have a fall tour, but they have absolutely no love for Memphis. In fact, I’d say they have negative love after forcing me to shell out $35 for the Letdown for a Goodcause of the year (Voodoo Fest in Memphis to benefit Katrina Victims) and then not showing up. Sure, I probably could’ve bitched and gotten my money back, but who wants to be the asshole that takes their money back from a charity event? Whatever, I’ll still buy their new album and love it.
In other news, how hard is it to buy Kicking and Screaming- Criterion? I mean, I hit every store in town… only 1 had it, but had sold both copies already. After local shopping had failed me, I turned to the internet where Amazon informed me that it would not ship until Sept 12th. And this was Aug 30th that I placed the order. Whatever happened to convenience and instant gratification?!
Speaking of your sister, remember back in the World Cup when Zidane headbutted that Italian dude (Materazzi)? Well, that Italian dude (Materazzi) finally owned up to what words were exchanged that led to the stupidest, career-ending, what a bad ass move I’ve seen. That Italian dude’s (Materazzi) paraphrasing:
TID (That Itatalian Dude (Materazzi)) grabs Zidane’s shirt during the play.
Zidane: If you want my shirt, I will give it to you afterwards!
TID: I’d prefer your sister.

Ok, how funny is that? Turns out TID didn’t even know Zidane has a sister until afterward (probably about the time he couldn’t breathe from the pressure of a bald French head against his chest). So, TID has publicly expressed remorse and an apology to Zidane’s sister (perhaps cause he’d prefer her), but won’t apologize to Zidane. I think that should be my new response to all questions… “I’d prefer your sister.”
