Let me tell you a few things I already know about sports, politics, and me in 2009.
Sports
- Tigers will step up their game in the NCAA tourney This will get them through 2 rounds, but unfortunately, they’ll drop to some underrated team that 90% of Tigers fans have never heard of.
- The Titans will go to the Super Bowl Which will be a great game against the Panthers. While the Titans will lose, Memphians can take solace in D. Williams representin’.
- The Grizzlies will continue to lose games they should win While that’s disappointing, they’ll continue making smart trades and building a team that will be completely worth watching and have a decent chance at some wins in a couple years. I just hope they’re still here when that happens.
- The Cubs will finally make it back to the World Series I refuse to predict beyond this.
- I’ll play a shit-ton of baseball on my Wii I have been for the past 2 weeks. Why would that change as we get closer to the baseball season?
Politics
- Now that Obama has won the election, we’ll all stop paying attention Some of us will pay attention all the way up until inauguration day, but when that next e-mail from Michelle Obama shows up the next morning, we’re all unsubscribing. There’s something really exciting about the race and change… we love the chase. Get ready to not care anymore.
Me me me Let’s be clear, these are predictions; not resolutions.
- I will set one or more lofty goals that I’ll never meet But, I’ll achieve something. And there’s really nothing wrong with that.
- I will continue to take a whole lot of photos In fact, I’d be willing to bet that I take ~twice as many as I did this year. I’m not sure how many exposures that is, but I posted around 300 shots (taken this year) to flickr, so let’s go for double…. maybe even triple. I’m aiming to post 1,000 photos to the flickr this year.
- I will move I will either move to another town or buy a house in Memphis this year.
- The amount of time and money I expend on entertainment outside of the home will be greatly diminished I’m finally getting old. Bars and the like are starting to bore me. Please kick me in the shin if you see me at the P&H on a Friday night.
- I will take an artistic risk… in the semi-public eye In ‘05, I got my blog on (not particularly risky). In ‘07, I started a band with friends (scary as shit). It would seem that I take risks on odd years.
