Tis the season to waste a lot of time on the internet. Sure, you could send around links to youtube videos or play with officemax’s christmas site (the The Christmas Story game is the bomb). Another option would be to try out some new sites or revisits some old favorites you haven’t seen in a while. So, here are some friends and fellow bloggers you might need reminding of.
Rabbit Valley Road In the past few days, Davidm has relaunched this site with a new design and new focus. For months, maybe even a year, he focused pretty heavily on the politics and social concerns largely concerning the city of Chattanooga. The writing was always good and the conversation was engaging enough even for an outsider to join. Well, he’s now chosen to relaunch and retool and begin writing a bit more whimsically and randomly about music, fashion, the interweb, and still politics. It’s so far a nice variety show blog. Check er out.
At Home She Feels Like a Tourist Fearlessvk is a Memphian with a lot to say about it. As a relative newcomer to the city, she has a plethora of criticisms, observations, and suggestions. To be completely honest, I disagree with her…. eh….. roughly 93% of the time, but that doesn’t change the great conversation that generally results.
Scribblescrawl She loves zombies, transvestites, and LARP. Any time she posts something new, you’re pretty much guaranteed something utterly ridiculous. The writing’s been a bit few and far between lately, but hopefully this post will pressure her to write more.
Greenis.us This site is all about asking multiple choice questions and finding out what others think. The questions run the gamut, but the fun is in answering. It’s completely addictive. And you get points for asking, answering, and commenting. What do these points get you? Bragging rights.
Drivl It takes a whole team of writers for this one, but damnit they’re funny. Post after post of tongue-in-cheek editorials and diatribes on the hard hitting issues like immigration, the war on drugs, and poverty. I’m kinda kidding, but not really.
Yewknee I feel a bit like I’m giving away a secret here. I believe this dude lives in Nashville. Or maybe S.F.. I think he at some point has lived in either one or both. He might or might not be friends with davidm or silvergiraffe or both. I honestly don’t know. What I do know is that he has fantastic taste in photography, web design, and youtube video linkage. That, and he does things with beards.
So, there you go, that should be enough to keep you busy at least until lunch if not a little after.
P.S. Greenis.us is currently building me a wordpress plugin for embedding greenisus polls within a blog. Why would I want to do this? Because there are some things I’m gonna need you to vote on pretty soon.

Thanks for including me. I do write about more important things than the utterly ridiculous, fyi.
Thanks for the plug and top billing (in your face, Kerry).
I don’t know Michael Eades (yewknee). But his blog is fantastic.
you’re still just mad because i’m not convinced that midtown is memphis ;P
(and because we owned you last night at trivia! yes, i’m perfectly aware we had 6 people and you only had 3. i’m just choosing to neglect this crucial piece of information.)
kerry- that gives me an idea. perhaps a blog dedicated to ridiculous cow utters would be more than awesome.
fearless- you’re just mad because we have all the grocery stores, good bars, and men in black t-shirts. and you shouldn’t be afraid that you might have a judas on your team and he ain’t no priest.
i can live without the grocery stores and even without the bars, but you make a compelling point re: men in black t-shirts.
….i presume we’re talking about men who are wearing black t-shirts, and not t-shirts dedicated to the movie “men in black”. if the latter, i retract my comment.
You deserve top billing, David. You’ve known him longer.
Safeguy: are you talking about cow udders, the milk-spurting nipples which hang from the beast, or cow utters, the moos and snorts?
Because either way, that’s gross.
teat’s are the boobies of the cow!
my two cents, so i don’t feel left out. i do not know michael eades, i just enjoy his blog. in a few months, i am going to be looking to start up a new blog. stay prepared.
